Safety monitoring platform SafetyIQ and corporate travel solution Locomote have secured a joint partnership with American energy giant Chevron, using a collaborative approach to lock in a deal with the world’s largest companies.
SafetyIQ, founded in 2012 by Joe Hoolahan and Kathy Wilson, provides a remote worker management solution that streamlines safety procedures for a diverse range of organisations.
The company undertook a Series-A investment of $4.5m to expand the company and power its outreach to international firms like Chevron.
Speaking to Director of Strategic Partnerships and Co-Founder, Joe Hoolahan says partnering with Locomote allowed Chevron to tackle two problems at once – how to manage travel arrangements at scale, and how to oversee the varying safety requirements of a global workforce.
A significant shift in corporate travel due to COVID has increased the scope of a company’s travel risk management.
Locomote, which already provides automated travel booking and management processes, has expertise in the complexities of pre-trip requirements, particularly in the COVID sphere.
Director of Special Projects and Co-Founder, Kathy Wilson said that in the discovery phase with Chevron, SafetyIQ realised they could provide a better outcome and user experience by partnering with Locomote.
“There is a growing expectation of Companies to do more for their Employees, especially when it comes to corporate travel. Managing movement from Airport to Airport or Site to Site just isn't enough. The integration between SafetyIQ and Locomote allows complete visibility of employee movement," Kathy Said
The existing working relationship between the two Australian Companies, and the dedication to agile solutions, helped the deal get through in a matter of days, she added.
“The willingness of our two companies to work together has provided an immediate end-to-end solution for Chevron. We are proud of the way our two teams have worked together to get Chevron up and running in a matter of days rather than months. It shows what can happen when two agile tech companies partner rather than work independently. Together, we have an ability to scale to any client's needs.” Kathy said.
The partnership is ready for implementation at other resource giants, says Locomote CCO Nick Sutherland, with a focus on openness and collaboration proving a boon for the provider.
“We’ve got proof in the pudding here with Chevron case study, but there will be a number of others that will evolve off the back of that with SafetyIQ and other providers” he said.
“Our mindset internally is very much around creating that marketplace, that platform, but getting the expertise from other suppliers and partners to work together to get joint commercial outcomes.”
