This whitepaper follows on with a comprehensive action plan after our previous eBook: "Enhancing Worker Safety In Remote Mining Operations".

Accidents in remote mining often stem from factors like inadequate training, equipment malfunction, environmental hazards, and lack of proper communication protocols.
The previous eBook analyzed three recent workplace accidents in remote mining operations. Based on this analysis, we were able to identify key safety gaps that likely lead to these accidents. From there solutions were suggested and this eBook expands on your next steps to implement.
Technology plays a crucial role in enhancing remote mining safety through the use of sensors, drones, remote monitoring systems, and communication devices to detect hazards and communicate with workers in real-time.
At SafetyIQ, we are pioneers in safety technology, dedicated to enhancing workplace safety and efficiency. Our Journey Management, Lone Worker Management and Advanced Fatigue Management Solutions utilize cutting-edge technology to monitor dispersed workers and prevent fatigue-related incidents effectively. By choosing us, you're partnering with a team committed to making your workplace safer and more productive.
SafetyIQ’s Journey Management Solution provides a streamlined, automated and reliable approach to managing the risks of a travelling workforce. We understand your team is busy, so we automate mundane tasks where possible and bring your attention to where it’s needed. The Lone Worker solution continues this safety monitoring by providing complete visibility of your workers, effective communication with periodic check-ins, and a fast and reliable emergency escalation process.
When paired with our Fatigue Management Solution, you can effectively identify when your workers are struggling with alertness - a leading indicator of fatigue. 30% of serious accidents are directly related to fatigue, and people are 70% more likely to be in a workplace accident when fatigued. Avoid the serious consequences of fatigue-related incidents, and provide an extra layer of protection for your mobile and lone workers with SafetyIQ.
All users can create a journey plan in the system where they select the mode of transport, location, dates, expected time and any additional safety integrations such as GPS Devices, IVMS Devices or Risk Assessments.
Then whilst the user is on their journey, they are given automatic SMS and email reminders to check-in at predetermined locations to confirm their safety. If they fail to check-in, the escalation process is triggered and managers are alerted to respond.
When a worker is in a remote or isolated location, they can activate lone worker monitoring. Their real-time location is available in the app and they are required to check-in periodically to confirm their safety. Similar to Journey Management, if they miss a check-in, their escalation contact is notified. Their escalation contact will then confirm their safety, or send rapid emergency response to their live location.
Users complete a 60-90-second game-like test at the start of each shift or before undertaking a high-risk activity (such as driving). The system develops a personal, rolling baseline that learns each person’s behaviour patterns, and average performance, and adjusts as they improve with practice.
If a user receives a score outside their baseline parameters, they are prompted to retake the test. If their score doesn’t improve, their manager is notified to check-in with them and see if they are safe to work.
Our goal is to provide you with the ability to highlight at-risk workers, start a conversation and care for your employees.
Switching to SafetyIQ has saved companies valuable time by eliminating their manual processes.
