About TrueNorth Steel
TrueNorth Steel is a prominent steel products supplier and manufacturer with more than 75 years of experience going above and beyond for their customers. TrueNorth Steel is head quartered in North Dakota employing 800 employees with plants across multiple states in the United States.
Challenge
TrueNorth Steel faced challenges that affected its operations. The company struggled with lack of good, accurate data on safety incidents, making it hard to report and analyze safety issues. Organizing and analysing the data took a lot of time and effort that fell on a safety team that was under staffed.
Additionally, the safety department wanted to consolidate all their safety needs including SDS database under one system. Having one primary system for incident reporting, audit tracking, OSHA reporting, SDS file management and accessibility, and other safety tracking requirements facilitated eliminating the need for having multiple programs.
Solution
In response, SafetyIQ was able to help TrueNorth Steel by implementing key modules to improve its safety data management:
Incident Report Management system was introduced to streamline the recording and tracking of safety incidents.
The Safety Observations module was set up to facilitate the regular monitoring and reporting of potential hazards.
Audits and Inspections tools were introduced to to ensure consistent adherence to safety protocols and standards.
An enhanced Safety Data Sheet Management system was rolled out to provide easy access to essential safety information, making it simpler for the team to manage.
These strategic implementations aimed to refine data handling and elevate the user experience within the company’s safety operations.
